HGV Technician / Mechanics Wanted!

We are looking for a HGV Mechanic on behalf of your client to join their team. The role is for someone to come in as the sole HGV mechanic and to be in charge of maintaining our own fleet of vehicles and trailers. Some experience of plant and hydraulics would be beneficial as this compliments our main line of work.
The successful candidate will have their own top spec pit lane in a recently built modern workshop all to the current ATF requirements.

Main responsibilities
· You will be required to carry out inspections, maintenance and MOT prep work to our own HGV’s and wide range of trailers and keep all of our equipment and your own work area to a very high standard.
· Responsible for compliance - with good knowledge of current DVSA compliance legislations and good paperwork being key to this role.
· To be in charge of maintaining our fleet of vehicles and trailers with some experience with plant machinery being useful but not essential.
Key skills/qualities
· 5+ years of hands-on experience as a HGV Mechanic, preferably carrying out repairs, installing and servicing equipment in the construction, heavy plant, and quarrying sector.
· Good understanding of heavy plant and equipment.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Full UK driving licence, no more than 3 points.
· Self-motivated; able to work on your own initiative.
· Good communicator who builds strong working relationships.
· Knowledge of and diligent about following site-relevant Health and Safety legislation.

· Hours of work Monday to Friday 7am-5pm – total 45 hours (plus every other Saturday)
